Our young U21 team put in a good performance against a strong Kilmallock side last night in Knocklong.
It had been a close contest for much of the first half with Doon trailing by a point after 28 minutes (5 points to 4). But in the three minutes to follow Kilmallock added 2 fast goals and a point just ahead of the break. Trailing by 2-6 to 0-4, Doon got the first point of the second half, coming from Dean Coleman. This was followed by a 15-minute spell of no scores for us, where Kilmallock extended their lead by another 1-2. Darragh O’Donovan put Doon back on the scoreboard with 2 points, but Kilmallock rounded off the game with a point at the final whistle. Final score Kilmallock 3-9 Doon 0-7.
