U15 County Final

posted 15 Nov 2010, 11:42 by Robert O'Connell   [ updated 19 Nov 2010, 05:08 by Unknown user ]

On Sunday last in bright sunshine Doon played Na Piarsaigh in the U15 county final in Boher who have their new pitch in excellent condition. Doon began very brightly with 2 points from Dean Coleman. However, Na Piarsaigh replied with 2 points of their own to level the match. Then Dean struck a great goal which gave us a lead that we would never surrender. With an exhibition of free taking from Darragh O’ Donovan and an inspirational captains role from Patrick Cummins, Doon went on to win comfortably in the end. The final scoreline being Doon 1-14, Na Piarsaigh 1-7.  Congratulations and well done to all involved for bringing another juvenile county title back to Doon.

Adare began the second half as they had finished the first to lead by 6pts with 15 mins remaining. But Doon never gave up and with a goal and a point from Darragh Stapleton and points from Darragh O'Donovan, Pat Ryan and Kevin Heuston the game entered the final few minutes level pegging. Unfortunately Adare went ahead again to deny Doon by a single point. The final scoreline being 2-12 to 3-8.Well done to all involved.
