Doon's second game in the East Junior B Hurling Championship was against Knockane in Cappamore last Saturday evening (10th August). It was a landslide victory in the end for Doon, by 12 points - final score Doon 6-12 Knockane 4-6.

Knockane secured the first two points of the game but in a great 14 minute spell in the middle of the half Doon scored their entire first half's tally of 4 goals and 2 points. Knockane added three more points before the break to make the half time score Doon 4-2 Knockane 0-5.

Having exchanged a goal and a point in the first 4 minutes of the second half, Doon again hit a purple patch and scored 1-9 unanswered. However, at the 26th minute, Knockane came back into it getting 3 goals past keeper and captain John Murphy but that still didn't put too much of a dent in our lead and the game ended Doon 6-12 Knockane 4-6. Well done to Cian McNamara on his hat-trick of goals! At this stage of the competition, we now have one win and one loss under our belts.
