Our two junior teams were in action over thew weekend and were much fancied to go through to the east finals. However both teams were beaten on their respective night which now leaves only the senior team who play Bruff this weekend in the County Senior B championship left in adult competitions.
First up were the Junior B team who played Cappamore. The boys had been training hard for this match over the last few weeks and had been very impressive in recent challenge matches. With Tom Murphy at full back, Daniel Landers anchoring the half back line and shane McKenna  shining at corner forward Doon looked well primed to go the distance. However they came up against a stubborn Cappamore side who had other ideas about where victory was going and at the end of full time were deserving winners on a scoreline 1-7 to 0-4.

Next up were Kilteely in the Junior A Championship. Denis Barry had our boys well up for this match and had been working hard in training drills on first touch and pressure play. with Past senior hurlers and up and coming prospects littered throughout the field much was expected of these boys. However things did not go as planned as on the morning of the match our goalkeeper Gerard Ryan was deemed unfit to play because of injury. This was a massive loss and much rejigging of the team had tio take place. denis Barry was now moved from the half forward line to fill this position. Doon started off very brightly with Aidan Fitzgerald, Conor White and the ever young John Stokes most impressive. Bernard Crowe and Dan Reale were also motoring well in the the forward line. However a goal towards the end of the first half by Kilteely proved the Killer as Doon could never seem to peg back that score. James Fox scored a goal in the second half but this still was not enough. Kilteely ran out winners on a scoreline 1-11 to 1-8
