Our Senior hurlers bowed out of the East Senior championship when they were defeated  by Murroe Boher in Caherconlish on Sunday night. Coming so soon after being knocked out of the county  hurling championship the boys just couldnt seem to muster up a performance in the first half. Murroe did all the hurling with Doon only replying wuith three points and two of these were from placed balls.

In the second half Doon upped their performance considerably and were unlucky not to poach a goal on one or two occassions. Denis Moloney, Don Anderson and Mike McKenna were really motoring at this stage with Michael Ryan doing a lot of damage up front. When McKenna scored a cracker of a goal from a penalty the tide seemed to be changing in Doons favour, however Doon just could not get the scores that mattered and Murroe ran out winners on a 1-17 to 1-9 scoreline. Doon Paddy Coleman, Don Anderson, Roger Maher, Seamus Barry, David Stapleton, Niall Maher, Eoin Fitzgibbon, Denis Moloney, Jason Ryan, Rodger Ryan, JamesO'Brien, Ger McPartland, Michael Barry, Michael Ryan, Mike McKenna. Subs George Allis for Rodger Ryan, John Hayes for Seamus Barry, Thomas McLoughlin for Michael Barry
